- Students wrote a personal narrative

- Do you know where Massachusetts got it's name?
- What does the word Satuit mean?
- We have been working on Calm Classroom relaxation and focusing techniques such as calm breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, brain gym,and visualizing your "quiet place" to help with transitions during the day

- Students should be studying their ADDITION and SUBTRACTION MATH FACTS ( 0-10 ) DAILY until they have mastered them
- (Students have read Scituate From A-Z by Gael Daly and we made a class book of facts about Scituate from A-Z. Ask your child what letter they wrote and illustrated a fact for)
- Students constructed Wampanoag villages for each season of the year. They used vocabulary words learned in this unit of study to guide them in designing the elements of their villages.
- We are currently learning about the Pilgrims and their interactions with the native people, the Wampanoags. We visited Plimoth Plantation to learn about everyday life in 1624 and we are role playing the lives of the Pilgrims in class through the Pilgrim Interact simulation. Ask your child the name of their colony, their ship, what are some of the main points of their Compact agreement, how many houses and acres of corn they have, and if they have a peace treaty with the Wampanoags or not.
- Next ,they will build go on trading expeditions.
- (Coming soon: Students will write informational biographies, make a diorama, and present them in class. These biographies will also be turned into a class book and the dioramas will be displayed in the library)
- Students will make totem pole stories which they will present in class as well.
- Students will design and construct a colonial trades diorama to supplement our study of colonial times ( the Puritans and the American Revolution)
- We will plant sugar snap peas in the Jenkins garden with a volunteer from Holly Hill Farm and will be observing them and monitoring their growing process.
